The racing super-cells,rotating thunderstorms that could be seen on weather radar. One of the super-cells, churning from Lady Lake to New Smyrna Beach in an hour, killed at least 19 people. Fortunately it missed most of Lady Lake but destroying a church bordering HWY 466 and HWY 441 less than a mile from Water Oak. We heard little of the storm except drowsily awakened by some strong winds about 3:00 AM. Pictures show some of the devastation that hit many trailer home sites in the tornado's path.

On the same day Rob Ford voted against honouring Nelson Mandela, another famous world leader chimed in on the mayor, with former U.S. president Bill Clinton having a few laughs at Ford’s expense on a late night comedy show. “I will say this: He has absolutely destroyed every stereotype people have about Canadians,” Clinton said on the Jimmy Kimmel Live program Wednesday. “The Canadians are upbeat, optimistic, can-do, they are embracing, they’re inclusive… “Everything I ever believed about Canadians, ol’ Rob has proved that you can’t be stereotyped positive or negative, I guess,” the 42nd president of the United States, no stranger to political scandal himself, said.

  Demand response started in 2005 to reward industrial and commercial businesses for cutting energy use at peak times to prevent brownouts and blackouts caused by a strain on the power grid, especially during the summer.   The all-time record for energy use in Ontario happened Aug. 1, 2006, when demand for electricity reached 27,005MW, according to the Independent Electricity System Operator which oversees the province's electrical system. Consumption reports are generated by hour, day and month, and the website and mobile app offer suggestions to lower energy use, he said.
